Liz Hunter has an Honours degree in English Language and Literature from the University of Edinburgh. She has had considerable experience in the civil service – writing, reviewing and proofreading her own work and the work of others, often for publication and regularly at a few hours notice. She has successfully led major projects and is trained in project management, time management and Plain English.
Liz is a Professional Member of the Society for Editors and Proofreaders and abides by its code of conduct. She has completed courses from the Society in proofreading, copy-editing and on-screen editing and has achieved a Merit in the Publishing Training Centre's course in proofreading.
Liz specialises in theses and academic books in the social sciences, arts and humanities.
She also works on a freelance basis for the Scottish Parliament editing its Official Report, the equivalent of Hansard.
In her spare time, she practises her Italian, is beginning to learn Spanish and is trying to create a garden. She also helps her husband with his photography business.
